  • 6 large eggs room temperature

Instructions

  • Fill the pot with tap water and place on high heat on the stove.
  • Bring the water to a full rolling boil.
  • Carefully place eggs into the boiling hot water with a slotted spoon. Cook for 15 minutes.
  • Immediately use the slotted spoon to gently transfer the eggs from the hot cooking water to ice cold water.

Notes

TIPS for success:

  • Eggs should be at room temperature for even cooking
  • Use a pot large enough for the eggs to lay in a single layer
  • Fill the pot with enough water to cover the eggs by at 1 inch
  • do not cover the pot with a lid
  • Continue to fill bowl with cold running water to ensure the water does not heat up when cooking a large batch of eggs
