Easy High Altitude Apple Crisp with Crumble Topping

Equipment

  • 1 8x8 inch baking pan
  • 1 paring knife
  • 1 small mixing bowl
  • 1 medium mixing bowl

Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 6 cups apples peeled & sliced
  • cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt

Crumble Topping

  • 1 ½ cup quick oats
  • cup all purpose flour
  • cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter melted

Instructions

  • PREHEAT OVEN TO 400 ℉ - prepare the baking dish by applying a thin coat of butter
  • PEEL AND SLICE APPLES - slice the apples to approximately ½ inch by ½ inch pieces or smaller for softer baked apples.
  • PLACE APPLES IN PAN & SPRINKLE WITH CINNAMON, SUGAR, & SALT - combine the cinnamon, sugar, & salt in a bowl then sprinkle over apples for even distribution
  • MELT BUTTER - in a microwave safe bowl melt the butter
  • COMBINE ALL THE CRUMBLE TOPPING INGREDIENTS - combine in a large bowl and mix together with a fork until crumbly
  • SPRINKLE THE CRUMBLE OVER THE APPLES
  • BAKE FOR 30 MINUTES
  • TOP WITH A SCOOP OF ICE CREAM & ENJOY!
